Includes all accommodation (luxury tented camps plus four-star hotels), all ground transport including airport transfers and mainland security escort, daily meals with water and soft drinks, all site fees and permits, boat and snorkelling gear, and a Chinese-speaking guide. Excludes international flights, the Yemen visa, personal insurance, tips and personal spending. Single supplement USD 1,000.

Jeddah JED 11:00 IY525 to Socotra SCT 14:30. At Arher, dunes rise straight out of the coastline; sunset where the Arabian Sea meets the Indian Ocean.

Dune sunrise · Dihamri · Homhil

Dune sunrise · Dihamri · Homhil

Up the dune for sunrise, then the Dihamri marine reserve for snorkelling or diving, and Homhil in the afternoon for dragon-blood trees, desert rose and frankincense at sunset.

After sunrise, Kalysan canyon—white rock and blue water. Then the south coast and Deguub cave with its stalactites and natural pools, and sunset on the great Zahek dune.

Morning flight to Mukalla, and the mainland crossing begins. On to Haid al-Jazil for sunset over Wadi Doan and the night on the rock.

A full day at Haid al-Jazil

A full day at Haid al-Jazil, Hawfah and the painted Buk palace, with Qarn Majed and other traditional villages and viewpoints; a honey producer for the famous Hadrami sidr honey, and sunset over Wadi Doan.

Down the valley, stopping at Seif and Hajrain, where houses grow out of the cliff, then Shibam—the 'Manhattan of Arabia'—on foot through the old town and rooftops at sunset before Seiyun.

Tarim, the mud-built Sufi city: the small market and the Mihdhar mosque with its mud minaret. After lunch, the tomb of the Prophet Hud, then back to Seiyun for the Sultan's palace and the market.

Seiyun to Mukalla

Seiyun to Mukalla

Drive from Seiyun to the coastal city of Mukalla. Visit Al-Ghwayzi fort and Khor Mukalla, check in, then the old town and the local market.

Mukalla · Gheysn · Ghaydah

An early start east along the Arabian Sea towards Ghaydah—fishing villages and beaches at Sayhut, lunch at the coastal hamlet of Kisit, then through Gheysn to Ghaydah by evening.

Ghaydah · Shufayt · Salalah, Oman

Ghaydah · Shufayt · Salalah, Oman

After breakfast, drive to Shufayt on the Yemen–Oman border, stopping at fishing villages along the way. Farewell to the Yemeni guide, cross into Oman, and reach Salalah by evening—the crossing is complete.

Good to know

  • A Yemen mainland visa is required: a Socotra island permit alone does not allow travel on the mainland.
  • All flights are separate, non-through tickets. If an earlier flight is delayed, the airline bears no responsibility for onward flights or losses.
  • Local conditions can change road access, accommodation and site openings at short notice; only licensed local ground operators can arrange this.
  • Your guide may adjust the order of days and sites to suit season, weather, roads and camp conditions.
